Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes - Holiday homes Isère

Impressive mountain peaks, rock massifs and reservoirs: these are the characteristics of the Isère department. The lakes are ideal for water sports and the three nature parks are an ideal destination for lovers of hiking and nature. The Isère also means interesting cities such as Vienne and Grenoble, but also charming villages, excellent gastronomy and of course the famous winter sports resorts.

Holidays in Isère

Grenoble is the capital of the department and is surrounded by impressive mountain ranges with a height of up to 3000 meters. The space, the fresh mountain air and the hospitality make the city particularly pleasant. You can take a cable car from the Quai Stéphane-Jay to the 19th century Fort de la Bastille from where you have a magnificent view of the mountains and the city. The Parc Guy Pape, the Jardin des Dauphins, the Musée Dauphinios and the busy Place Grenette are recommended during a holiday in Grenoble.

Vienne is located 30 kilometers south of Lyon and no other city in the Rhone Valley contains so many historic buildings. From the old suspension bridge, which is only accessible to pedestrians, you have a magnificent view of the Rhone valley. Interesting sights here are the Temple d'Auguste et de Livre, the Place de Miremont and the Theater Romain where the Jazz festival of Vienne takes place.

Le Bourg d’Oisans is located on the impressive Massif des Écrins with a height of up to 4100 meters and is considered one of the most beautiful mountain regions in France. Admire the "Parc National des Écrins" nature park, with beautiful panoramic views and glaciers. Nature lovers and adventurers can take a trip to the Vercors. The landscapes here are varied, wild and mysterious with deep gorges and waterfalls.

Wintersports in Isère

Winter sports enthusiasts are in the right place with a holiday home in Isère. Les Deux Alpes, Oz-en-Oisans and Vaujany are well-known winter sports resorts where every year many sports enthusiasts let the long ones down. One of the most famous mountains of Isère is the Alpe d’Huez. This classic in the cycling world is not only conquered by pros but also many amateur cyclists climb this mountain every year. The lively village has various shops, restaurants and places to go out so that you will not be bored during your winter sports holiday. In the middle of the attractive ski resort of Alpe d’Huez lies the beloved family ski destination Oz-en-Oisans. The Vaujany ski area is also located in the Alpe d’Huez, but is a bit smaller. Here you will find the largest gondola in the world: it can hold 160 people!

Through the glacier in Les Deux Alpes you can ski there almost 365 days a year: in summer you can go on 20 kilometers of slopes and in winter on more than 200 kilometers. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, there is plenty of other entertainment: there are many restaurants, cafés, a cinema and a nightclub.
